Introduction

Introduction

The summer is here and we are both busy working on our tans. The gorge scrambling is well under way and we haven’t stopped getting out on the loch in our kayaks. The hills have also been amazing with some cracking days out guiding, we hope to see you up there soon.

Sea kayaking course

Sea kayaking course

We have just finished our introduction to Sea kayaking course and had a fabulous weekend, which was topped off with two otters popping up in front of us right at the end. With such high demand for the course we have added another date on the 18-19th September. For more information click here .

Little box of thoughts

Little box of thoughts

Our little box continues to delight us, warm our hearts and confuse. Below are some of the best thoughts.

'Sit in silence and behold, this is Scotland’ - Rothienorman, June

‘I want to do archery’

‘Sitting here in this amazing landscape I can almost forget that my wife got four clay pigeons while I missed everything’

‘Two best friend, who have been through thick and thin for nearly a decade, sit here on their second visit together to this beautiful and majestic land. Although our lives have gone in different directions, Torridon is a place that will always bring us together’ - Linny & Milla, June

Join us for a question and answer session with James Pirrie, a frequent visitor to the Torridon and a keen participant in all things outdoors.

Q. Can you start by telling us what you enjoy doing when you're not at work?

A.  I enjoy going to the gym or spending time cycling or walking. During the winter I love to ski, and when I'm not doing that I like to plant trees on my land.

Q. How did you end up playing with The Torridon Activities Boys?

A. ‘Chris guided me on Liathach about a month ago, and then recently he took me and my son on Slioch, instead of the usual ascent we kayaked to the starting point an then walked from there. This added to the exceptional experience and we really enjoyed the day.

Q. What is it about Torridon that keeps brining you back?

A.I really enjoy the scenery and the hills of the area, combined with the luxurious and relaxing nature of the hotel there's nowhere better to enjoy the outdoors.

Q. What hils in the area would you still like to climb?

A.‘Beinn Eighe’

Q.What are your plans for the rest of the year?

A.  I Will be doing a little travel, and lots of work. I would also like to climb Ben Lomond with my son as it is just outside our door. In general I would like to get out more with my son and get him to carry the bag’

See James on his adventures with the guys at Torridon Activities on Liathach or Slioch
