Recording of Webinar March 2009 The recording of our webinar on Thursday, 19 March is now available on the SPARKS Network website at www.sparksproject.org/Webinar-Transcripts-g.asp Personal Message from Bill Blakemore It is great to have had our first piece of joint activity with SPARKS Network members and to have had such a positive response from those who took part. We've started getting to know each other, have greater understanding of what our members want to get out of their involvement and how they want to work together. Within the Network team we have resources that members can use to support their own efforts influencing local politicians and MEPs. During last week’s webinar [web conference] we discussed how to influence the European Parliament’s forthcoming vote on the Report on the Urban Mobility action plan. There will be lots of opportunities in the future to influence the shape of new laws. If you weren't able to join us for our first webinar I hope you will be able to come to our first face to face event - a members' meeting on 22 April at the Parkex exhibition. We'll be listening to your views on our strategy and priorities, starting some cooperative activities and sharing case studies from members. Parkex Exhibition Parkex is Europe's largest event dedicated to the parking industry and attracts people from public and private organisations across the UK, EU and other parts of the world. I've been for the last couple of years and always enjoy my time meeting people and hearing of new activities. This year Parkex is located alongside two other events - Traffex 2009 and Street Design - making it even more valuable. The NEC is in a complex that includes Birmingham International Airport and Birmingham International rail station, so is very easy to get to from all the main European cities.
