Help IMPROVE Cross-Border Traffic Enforcement by Joining SPARKS in SUPPORTING Amendments to Two Draft REPORTS Before the European Parliament's Transport Committee

(We’ve created a quick and easy-to-use email template for you to send to your MEP)

We believe it is important that London’s voice is heard during votes in the European Parliament Transport Committee next Tuesday, 31 March.

That is why we are asking you to join us in calling for MEP Robert Evans - London's representative on the committee - to support amendments to two reports:
•    Draft report on an Action plan on urban mobility, by MEP Gilles Savary
•    Draft report on Intelligent Transport Systems in the field of road transport and interfaces with other transport modes, by MEP Anne Jensen

Amendment 48 has been tabled by MEP Brigitte Fouré and applies to the ITS report. It calls for data to be exchanged between bodies responsible for enforcing traffic regulations as well as between traffic information & control centres.

Amendment 55 was tabled by Robert Evans and applies to the urban mobility action plan. It calls for the plan to include the need for a system for both criminal and non-criminal cross-border enforcement.

To make it as quick and easy as possible for you to support these amendments we have drafted an email for you; you will find it in the news story.

All you need do is cut and paste our draft text into your own email system, insert the name of your authority in the first paragraph and send to Robert Evans. His email address is also in the news story.

Biography of MEP Robert Evans

Please do send you email by Monday 30 March so that Mr Evans has a chance to consider your views before the vote in the Transport Committee the next day.

Thank you very much for your support.
